OpenAI’s November 4 report separates candidate discovery, runtime reproduction, exploitability assessment and patch review. It reports 2,308 candidates, 1,724 reproduced vulnerabilities and 948 distinct local privilege escalation patches from a controlled Linux campaign. Human review precedes maintainer reporting. These stages have different denominators; generated patches are not necessarily accepted fixes. The reported API cost also excludes a claim of universal cost efficiency.
